"InSpectres: Fighting the forces of darkness so you don't have to" is Jared Sorensen's 80 pages book on comedic "Scooby Doo" haunt solving.
Players take the role of a "Ghost Busters"-like franchise immersed in the politics and humor of "Office Space" and "The Office" while dealing with supposedly supernatural manifestations.
The game is an innovative light "narrative" driven system, in that the goal is to produce an amusing story driven by the foibles of the characters. Using a dice pool system attached to a skill defined characters, you roll dice and compare it to a skill roll chart. The results are determined by who won the roll, with the winner narrating the consequences. Complications are added by skill dice. Franchise resources can be spent to modify rolls, resulting in diminishing dice for others to draw upon. One other notable feature is the "Confessional" when the game pauses and a player can narrate and edit the story, foreshadowing events, complicating the lives of the characters, or providing detail and color to the characters or the world.

| 5 + 5 | Biohazard | InSpectres. InSpectres gives you the chance to play "Exterminators of the Unusual" in a comedic/horror game, that is more a mutual storytelling experience than a classic rpg. While different, it offers loads of fun and is ideal for playing on short notice. [ Read Review ] |

| 9 / 10 | Yokiboy | InSpectres is fantastic! It requires no preparation to play, creating characters takes a couple of minutes, and part of it involves conducting a job interview. It must be experienced to be believed. The game plays like a mix of a reality TV show, Ghostbusters and running your own startup company. It is just awesome fun! You have a mechanic that allows you to do a "confessional." Just like in most reality TV shows, where you can talk directly to the camera. In play, players use this for narrative control in a wonderful way. The game's focus is definitely on humor, and it delivers! We have never had a failed session of InSpectres, they've all rocked. Give it a try if you haven't already. |
| 5 / 10 | Simple Man | Picks up on octaNe's failure to sustain long-term play a bit. A great game for those who like Ghostbusters, Reality TV, or want to play a hybrid of the two. |
