A back to basics Cyberpunk game of pointless violence, high tech and evil corporations.
Players take on the role of Agents for one of five mega-corporations which now control most of Earth and the colonised solar system. Their job to basically do what their bosses tell them in the belief that their masters know whats best for the world. Add in a world government working to keep these corporations on a leash with the covert assistance of some enigmatic, alien artificial intelligences. Other "bad guys" include a New World Religion and a Cult who seek human apotheosis by adding more and more technology to their bodies. Garnish with a hefty dose of cybernetics, big powerful kick-ass weapons, bio-modification, telepathics and the usual line in cutting edge equipment, drugs, droids and vehicles.
What you end up with is a very slick, well produced, fun game which fits nicely into the Cyberpunk RPG genre. It doesn't add anything particularly new but it's certainly ticks all the right boxes for what makes a good sci-fi action game which will keep your average powergamer group more than happy for many hours.
The game's system is workmanlike (Stat Skill ( /- modifiers) = target number. Roll under the target number with 2D10) and durable without being too heavy going. There are a few flaws which you may feel need minor houseruling/tweaking but the core of the system is sturdy enough to support what is asked of it in such a style game as this.
Overall a fun, quick and simple game which sits nicely in the genre.

| 3 + 5 | Destriarch | Corporation: The Roleplaying Game. An annoyingly haphazard book which nevertheless conceals a decent quality, easily understood and yet crunchy system. Obviously and nigh-exclusively combat oriented with little official support for narrative play, but plenty of potential for conversion to such. Overall, an excellent first attempt. [ Read Review ] |
