Champions is the core superhero roleplaying game that kicked off the whole Hero System.
This entry encompasses 1st-3rd edition, which were by Peterson & Mac Donald, as well as 4th edition, which was massively revised by Rob Bell, with all rules pulled out to a "Hero" section and the "Champions" material mostly encompassing background and special rules.
Two later editions are included as separate entries: Champions: New Millennium was the FUZION-based Champions game, while Champions: Superpowered Roleplaying is a genre book for fifth edition Hero, written from scratch by Aaron Allston.

By seperating the Rules from the Setting Hero Games combined all the various genre lines into a big cohesive chewy goodness. The Fourth Edition Champions book gives us both rules and the classic Champions setting in one big meaty book. |
| 8 / 10 | Gitrog | Played this a lot in college. My favorite superhero character was Iguanadon, a genius inventor who was bitten by a radioactive iguana. He had iguana powers, like swimming and enhanced senses. Mostly he was a gadgeteer. |
