Love and War discusses the idea of knights and chivalry in a d20 fantasy game from both a player and GM's perspective, centering advice around the four knightly virtues--Valor, Loyalty, Piety, and Love. Each virtue is given its own chapter, with discussions of what each ideal means to a knight, as well as character concepts, knightly orders, feats, prestige classes, and magic items related to each of the virtues.

Also included are orders of knighthood specific to fantasy races, alternative looks at what a knight is (female knights, knights as spellcasters, dark knights, etc.), different sets of knightly virtues, and how knights and the virtues are seen in a fantasy medieval setting.
