The core roleplaying game for story-oriented gaming in any genre, any time, any world. In addition it contains an overview on gaming in the magic world of Glorantha. HeroQuest follows in the footsteps of Hero Wars and allows fast and furious gaming unlike classic rpgs.
A unified conflict resolution mechanism allows to play out gunfights, magic and swordplay as detailed as intrigue, love stories or singing contest. The scope of play can easily range from individuals to nations and is suitable to everybody looking for a rich narrative experience.

This book is the complete core rulebook for HeroQuest, including character creation rules, four types of magic, narrating, HeroQuesting, a bestiary of creatures, a general intro to Glorantha, and more.

4 + 5cj.23HeroQuest: Roleplaying In Glorantha. An excellent, innovative and radical game, which is perhaps hard to grasp in its many choices and complex options, but is an elegant attractive design which many roleplayers might enjoy and learn from.
4 + 5Dan DavenportHeroQuest: Roleplaying in Glorantha. The authors bring Glorantha to life once more with a system that’s at once simple to use and epic in scale. If you’ve no patience for abstraction, you may find yourself annoyed. Otherwise, prepare to be amazed.

9 / 10Alvin FrewerWhether or not you are into the setting of Glorantha (it doesn't feel as original as it probably did in the 1970's, though it still retains a devoted fanbase) the rules are fast and flexible. Smooth conflict resolution to fit anything you can imagine. The "combat" rules can be used for sword fights or social parlays, battles or bake offs. No predefined skills lists might not suit everyone, but the scalable system makes it wonderful for settings that range from low fantasy to living demi-gods without any clunky mechanics to deal with the vast power differences.
7 / 10gorillacusPerhaps I love the idea of this game more than the game itself.
