5 + 5kafkaBlack Bag Jobs. Gareth Hanrahan has an uncanny ability to merge all the aspects of The Laundry into a single adventure and is able to perform the trick repeatedly without sacrificing the storyline, as this adventure anthology reveals. Therefore, each adventure does have a situation that is clearly in there for the laughs. One should be cautioned most of the humour is specifically English with the good measure of the Irish lens thrown in. For anyone knows English humour, a lot of it, is thanks to Irish who as Inside/Outsiders and Outside/Insiders know the English better than they know themselves. The choice of venues give an excellent capsule for each adventure, players may run from the Great Old Ones but ultimately there is nowhere to hide. This might be a tad akin to railroading them but I would rather say that they are fast paced enough not to warrant that label. Best of all, is that the locales are quite different and very modern. Whilst, there has been some co-opting most notably from movieland these scenarios are fresh and are not rehashes – they speak and stand up in their own right. If you are a purist and play unadulterated Call of Cthulhu – you might still find these scenarios fun to throw your players with suitable modifications.
