9 / 10fbnaulinGreat game, mechanics and setting. Box set is full of good stuff, sadly a bit expensive.
8 / 10PapaBearI enjoy running this game for my pre-teen kids. They enjoy the realm and lore of Mouse Guard. It's a better game with the illustrated dice & the action decks of cards that came with-in the box set. The plastic "chess pieces" I could do without, would of preferred character specific minis instead. The rule book is basic and to the point and provides more than enough to run a game well with plenty of flavor and options. It's a great presentation with the box set, and I'd recommend it over the stand alone corebook any day. I wouldn't run this as a regular weekend game for your RPG group, just cause the context is more for a "younger" audience. But if you are into fantastic RPG games with little mice as heros then It's a 10+ rating for you. But regardless It's a great product and yes It's about $15 too expensive It's still a good buy if you have kids around who your trying to get involved with roleplaying.
8 / 10BorbetomagnusSuperb, fairly rules-light system built around beliefs and compulsions that is accented by a compelling setting. I'm using it as the introductory RPG for my young kids who are fans of the Mouse Guard comics. The system is simple enough for them to grasp and also apply in their first experience with role playing games. Some parts of the system are complex and I have decided not to include them in order to keep it simple (GM discretion).
4 / 10TrippyHippyA rules lite system that patently isn't and an 'indie' game that is a licensed setting.
1 / 10memorarenzI know people love this but God I cant stand it. I now own a box set of a game I loathe. Substandard rules and mice!!! God preserve us.
