2 / 10SleeperA fully-illustrated monster book with all new monsters? That sounds very impressive, but my eyes keep glazing over as I read it. The art is poor, the writing is poor and often unclear, and the monsters are terribly dull, or random incoherent mishmashes with no motivations or justifications. Even the ones borrowed from real world myths and legends are given no context, so they just come across as meaningless and bizarre.

And using two stat blocks (B/X and AD&D) doesn't work. The information is heavily redundant, and repeating it twice makes it surprisingly hard to pick out the differences. Plus, the use of two columns makes the two stat blocks kind of blend together.
