9 / 10Gregor HuttonA really nuanced system and an art deco themed game of gods and interplanetary drama. It is a stunningly good read and the system's only flaw is that it is perhaps too detailed and subtle (!) if you see what I mean -- people may miss its genuine elegance. As for the setting I like it, but it's a taste that has to be acquired -- as evidenced by the fact I find it hard to get people to want to play. Worth reading for the rules, enjoy reading the prose too.
9 / 10Keith SenkowskiI got to play this game at GenCon 2005. It was outstanding fun. It is a narrative game filled with subtle strategies. This isn't the typical, I win I get to say what happens sort of game. The way you use cards and work your stats and scenes forces you to make tacticle decisions that are more complex and more rewarding than most wargames I have played.
8 / 10Matt WilsonThis game delivers some good stuff. I think it could probably use more examples of play, as the rules, while really fun, are off the beaten path.
7 / 10Simple ManWith how highly touted Nobilis is around these parts, it's surprising that this game got swept under the carpet. I found this game to be an easier to understand and reference alternative. Being tied to a real-world cosmology also helped me digest the setting.
6 / 10Thunder_GodI like it, a bit too complex*, and I wasn't too much of a fan of the chapter giving an overview of the setting, though I liked its ideas quite a lot. * Too many options for me to remember, or it feels that way, though I easily master more complex systems. I guess it'll take playing to get used to the options given.
