10 / 10HarvoPlayed D&D, right now playing Exalted and Warhammer. The way warhammer is set, makes the game so much more fun then D&D boring attack. But not as exciting in battle as exalted but. I still prefer Warhammer over any game heard or seen. 220 classes. Random classes = Roll d1000. Mutations are great fun, and see how the players react to such things how they cover them up.
10 / 10Ars MysteriorumMy absolute favorite setting. The system doesn't shine without players dedicated to their characters, which is no detractor to the setting for me.
10 / 10RendragClearly one of the superior game systems out there.. and I have played a BUNCH!! I've played this game since it first came out (in the US) in 1986.. really like the new version from Dark Libraries.. updated and runs better than original.. still have orginal books including the very hard to find Realms of Chaos books 1 and 2.
10 / 10NightwalkerThis game is fantastic. It has a great, easy-to-use system, easy character creation, and a great setting with more grit than a mouthful of sand. The BRP reminiscent system also allows for greater amounts of characterization than the more popular games of the day.
10 / 10MescalinThis game rawks! Yes - I prefer dice-pools as a mechanic - but it is so simple and the use of Fortune Points & Fate points allows for some rerolls etc/ interesting resource management choices. WFRP is fast and furious. Plus its background make it stand out and tall amongst other games. Great fun. Easy to play. so much easier to run than D&D. The stat blocks make sense with little effort - allowing the GM to concentrate on the story and NPCs - rather than rules. Am running The Enemy Within (converted to 2nd ed) - and enjoying every moment. :)
10 / 10DeadmeatEasily beats D&D... much better fantasy world, less Tolkien more Elric... Yeah
10 / 10AllandarosWarhammer is f#$king METAL. 'nuff said! What, more? Um, great, dark gritty fantasy with the possibility of heroism. And Ratcatchers.
10 / 10astromancerGrim, gritty, and grimey, yet fun, full-bodied, and funny. Enough alliteration, it's just so easy to fall in love with your imperfect Warhammer characters, which is one of the things that makes it great. It's D&D with more pungent violence, more realism, and still more humor. And it has one of the best campaigns ever created.
10 / 10LazarusWarhammer Fantasy Roleplay is, well, Warhammer the RPG, in every sense of the word. It's in the Warhammer universe, has mechanics based upon the same stat line as the wargame ... and is just as compelling and fun.
10 / 10RonThe best fantasy roleplaying game I've played. A no non-sense approach to Fantasy with a rich background and easy to play rules.
10 / 10Shining DragonExcellent update for this great (and under appreciated) game.
9 / 10PsykieKILLAI find WFRP to be a nice change from the average hack n' slash, hero power level games. Like CoC, the investigative elements, as well as horror breath life into the rich setting. Furthermore, I have found that moral choices in WFRP are played out to be more entertaining. A player who usually sticks to morally sounds, pacifist characters turns to basically a gang leader, organising attack protocols and plans. A great game.
9 / 10MagganA great game and setting that forever changed my way of playing and game mastering. Atmospheric and fast paced.
9 / 10plaguesmanReally lacks the charm of the original game.
9 / 10Gregor HuttonSuperior Fantasy game with many highlights and a genuinely enjoyable setting. Career-based character progression, skills like "Flee!" and "Consume Alcohol", gunpowder, Chaos cultists, horror, adventure, even romance (Duellist or Bawd anyone?), dark humour, a detailed game world where nobles and politics are as much a danger as mazes and monsters, plagues, rivers, murder and Fate Points. Ahhhh, pass me the dice, I want to play this again. For what it's worth, my nostalgia still prefers the original hardback to anything else.
9 / 10AzidhakThe first fantasy rpg I've seen that really brings forth the evils of the feudal system, and does soe with grim humour. Truly excellent and with the 2nd edition the rules are consistent without losing much of the charming quirks of the original.
8 / 10Ravenpolarnice grim setting
8 / 10fhansSeams a little clunky in parts but fun and atmospheric, easy to grasp rules. Grim, gritty and deadly...let the slaughter begin!
8 / 10NarcisistaI'm not sure why I like this game so much. I find the setting a boring pastiche of the usual fantasy troupes, and the system I wouldn't usually consider as anything other than functional. Maybe it's the dark humor, or the simplicity of it, but this game does have a certain charm to it that I can't explain, even when I am not ignoring the setting...
8 / 10BigJackBrassPatchy and old-fashioned in places (even when it was released) WFRP nevertheless presented a unique atmosphere and setting. Not the most cheerful game ever written, despite the heavy lacing of humour throughout.
8 / 10eqdA fetid, stinking, muddy, barbaric world with more than enough savagery for all and a simple system even my more simple players could understand. I converted my DnD campaign to this and never looked back.
8 / 10MozartSomething about this game (2nd ed) just feels... right. It has the complete package from looks to playability. Looses a few marks for dependancy on a wealth of suppliments, some of which are less than perfect.
8 / 10OliveiraA sprawling mess, but great, great, great.
8 / 10von Bek1977Great, dark fantasy, much much better than AD&D, D&D, or whatever it's calling itself now
8 / 10Zachary The FirstThe very best in gritty fantasy RPGs. You can almost hear the bones crunching.
8 / 10Zounds!DEATH FROM SHOCK AND BLOOD LOSS IS INSTANTANEOUS!
7 / 10FlexiDespite having it's own unique flavour, it does not distinguish itself enough from most of the traditional high fantasy staples like halflings, elves & dwarves also found in D&D. The careers are great but a lot of the rules are way too fiddly. Nice selection of building floor-plans. The scenario is good but is really just a series of mini dungeon crawls.
7 / 10TrippyHippyThe iconic British fantasy RPG. Dark, gritty and with with a dose of sardonic wit. The Careers system gave a real feel of the social fabric of the Warhammer world, the system was simple, tidy (in 2nd edition especially) and I liked the magic system that was introduced too.
7 / 10Simple ManProbably the best fantasy RPG on the market right now. Well, unless you own M&M2E and Warriors & Warlocks.
7 / 10martijnwQuirky, fun and with bad puns to boot!
7 / 10gorillacusA game where the feeble, twisted and hapless hold back the hordes of Chaos(tm). Not to everyones taste.
7 / 10SkiorhtA quirky bu charming charater generation and a workable game system meet one of the best fantasy settings. The first edition was slightly flawed but more complete in one book. The second edition is much cleaner, but less than excellent value for money.
7 / 10YokiboyThe 1989 edition features the best roleplaying game cover ever! The game is very thematic, featuring an empire on the verge of collapse under the pressure of the forces of Chaos. The game has a cool late medieval, early renaissance feel to it, and is very gritty. If you like a good sim-type game, it can be very cool. The rules are better than most people give them credit for, and if you're a fan of the Warhammer Fantasy universe, you'll definitely like this game.
6 / 10GitrogInteresting career path character development. Very rich background universe. Have only made a character but not really played.
6 / 10ThanuirGood, if random, character creation system. Not remarkable.
6 / 10The BaronApart from the odd mechanical flaw, an almost perfect game
0 / 10Doc HalloweenI have not read yet.

5 + 4CakeWarhammer Fantasy Roleplay. Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay is back. Bolder & brighter than ever (in a perilous gothic way, of course) the great dark RPG of Games Workshops Warhammer World is finally with us in its second edition. Death & Glory await!
5 + 4FulsrushWarhammer Fantasy Roleplay. The RPG version of the wargame finally gets a 2nd Edition after 19 years, and they've ironed out most of the creases to produce a top quality dark and gritty fantasy game.
5 + 4Joe_G_KushnerWarhammer Fantasy Roleplay. After a long rest, the Warhammer world returns to role playing games with the Strength, and Sausage, of Sigmar.
5 + 3orangefruitbatWarhammer Fantasy Roleplay. Two games enter; one game leaves. My review compares the 1st and 2nd editions of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplaying (WFRP) to see which is the greatest. Hopefully, you don’t need to have read either edition to get something out of this review.
5 + 4SteveDWarhammer Fantasy Roleplay. The lion awakes.
5 + 3WhymmeWarhammer Fantasy Roleplay. "Without combat, how can you have a grim world of perilous adventure?"
5 + 4Aesras714Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. A group of new players try their hand in Warhammer's "Grim World of Perilous Adventure" and forget about party unity or tactics. What happens?
4 + 4MonsterMashWarhammer Fantasy Roleplay. A solid update to a classic RPG, with an characterful setting only let down by small omissions from the content.
4 + 5jonthemanWarhammer Fantasy Roleplay. It's Grim. It's Perilous. It's also the only book you'll need for a complete and comprehensive dark fantasy roleplaying game.
5 + 5TravireWarhammer Fantasy Roleplay. A salute to a classic fantasy roleplaying game, with many fond memories
