If you are even remotely interested in running a vampire centered game with a wholly different feel than the rest of the Old World, this is your book.
The region of Sylvania is an isolated universe fraught with wholly different dangers than any other place in the Warhammer universe. Vampires are dark gods with their own twisted and powerful magic and a horde of powerful servants at their disposal. This creates a deeper atmosphere for players hunting vampires than any other RPG I've read thus far.
Hunting vampires requires patience and research. One must identify the weaknesses of the vampire in question before engaging it. This could entail breaking into a mausoleum to find an ancient vampire hunter's journal containing the relevent information to finding ancient, ruined libraries and repositories of information with texts that hint at some ancient vampire's weak point. Simply finding the information to kill the vampire is an adventure in and of itself!
The feel of this book is excellent and a nice expansion to the Old World. I recommend this book to anyone seeking to find a whole new, dark side to WFRP.
Ratings. The ratings that users enter
into this index are each averaged into the final rating with a weight of
between 0 and 4, with weight based on trust algorithms.
Reviews. Each review is averaged into the
final rating with a weight of 8. Sometimes reviews can skew high, but they
also display fan interest (or disdain) in a product.
Content. The average rating of each
content--before its own bayesian weight is inserted--is averaged into
the final rating. The weight of a content is equal to its own weight
divided by the number of contents, and divided again if it only
appears in a fraction of editions.
Bayesian Weight. A rating of 5.00 is inserted into the final rating with a weight
of 35. This is an arbitrary weighting of
the average rating that keeps things toward the center until they're
better rated.
