Edition Summary

Battlelords of the Twenty-Third Century is a d100, skill based system, that allows you to create a player character that is a complete individual. Hundreds of skills and thousands of pieces of weaponry and equipment allow you to make your character whatever you want. We've got a race for everyone to play: from the Eridani Swordsaints, with their strict code of honor, to the fun loving Orion Rogue, to the huge but dimwitted Ram Python who's favorite saying is "If it moves, kill it. If it doesn't move, pick it up and kill it." Some races wield Matrix Powers, like the Mutzachans, allowing them to affect the fabric of time and space. The system is balanced between realism and fast playability. Battlelords is all about releasing your imagination. Unlike many RPGs, you have a whole universe to adventure in; anything can happen. Battlelords is a game, and like all of our products, is designed so you can have fun.

The challenge to Battlelords of the 23rd Century is playing aliens whose mindsets are completely different from elves and dwarves, or anything else you've become used to playing. It was the interaction of these races in a hostile environment that our playtesters found to be the most enjoyable when playing the game. In short, the company has hired to perform difficult and dangerous missions, a bunch of individuals who fundamentally don't get along with each other. Killing one another is out of the question because that is destroying company property, which carries the Death Penalty.

Notes on This Edition
This is the 10th anniversary edition. Yes, it's been 10 years, and we want to present our favorite game with some style. This book contains everything you need to get started playing Battlelords: 12 fully detailed player character races, step-by-step character generation, extensive background information on the Alliance and life in the 23rd century, character Fortune tables, over 150 skills, 400 pieces of weapons and equipment, over 250 matrix powers, and the easy to use d100 percentile system. Also included are the Hell's Point campaign scenario, the Flexsteel Jungle mini-adventure, NPCs, and Player Character Archetypes for each race to allow you to start playing as soon as possible. The universe is infinite, and with Battlelords, so are your gaming possibilities. We have revamped the main rulebook to make it easier to use than ever before, and better to look at. The 10th Anniversary Edition has 25% MORE artwork, with 70% of the total art being new! It has undergone a complete reorganization, with racial information consolidated, new cover art, an improved index/table of contents, new computer rules, and more! It has been reorganized into essentially two halves: the first half taking you through character creation step by step, with the second half giving you the rules, background info, and Battle Master info you'll need to play. The combat system has been revamped somewhat to include some of the innovations found in the Battlelords Journal supplement. Also, the computer rules have been completely changed to make them much more useful and integral part of the game. We've also greatly improved the table of contents and index. Lastly, fans of earlier editions will note that we have upgraded the binding for the books to the Otabind system which should give the books much longer life and will also allow them to lay flat.
