Another splatbook for Mage, both editions of the Dreamspeakers' Tradition Book explore the historically uncomfortably lumped-together of mystics and shamans that interacted with spirits -- a categorization forced by the more influential participants in the Grand Convocation of mages in the 15th century. As a splatbook, it offers the usual components: in-character explication of the Tradition's history, beliefs and practices, sample characters, and some new magical rotes and items.
This edition is also contained in
The Traditions Gathered 2: Blood and Dreams.
Notes on This Edition
This first edition of the Dreamspeakers'
Tradition Book has a metallic bronze cover, in keeping with the rest of the series in
Mage's initial run of splatbooks.
Also, this, along with the
Akashic Brotherhood Tradition Book, has been noted for trading on some particularly egregious cultural stereotypes and fallacies.
