apocalypse girl is an indie roleplaying game that won a Low Ronnie in 2005 for a submission where "gun" and "dragon" are significant elements. The game is based around three players: The Girl, the Dragon, and the World. The Girl is the standard cute Chosen One in the vein of Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, except her only super power is the ability to see the destiny of others. The Dragon is the seven-headed beast from Revelations, who whispers in the shadow and controls the world. The World is everyone else, who just wants to keep on going and avoid this apocalyptic nonsense. The fourth figure is a tool not a player; The Gun, the ultimate weapon. The three characters are defined by their Core (a single phrase that sums up their position), and the game play involves challenging each other's Cores. The game is intended to evoke and address the sex and death implicit in the Girl archetype.
