After an introduction where the author discusses his influences, the remainder of the book is composed of a player's guide section that provides a brief summary of the 13 civilized districts and the 9 largely-abandoned barrens, a map, and a treatise on daily life in the city from law to technology to entertainment, and concluding with a glossary of local slang.
