Game Summary | [ Edit Main Info ] |
Dungeon World Basic is a indie roleplaying game with an old school feel. The original version (Dungeon World Hack) was based on and required the Apocalypse World rules to use, but this edition is a complete, stand-alone (though still "beta") game.
Characters are defined by their class (cleric, fighter, thief, or wizard), race (dwarf, elf, halfling, and human), abilities (the standard D&D set), and alignment (evil, good, or netural). In addition, characters also get class abilities like spells or weapons. Characters also have bonds (short statements that define a relationship) with other PCs. The core mechanic (making "moves") involves rolling 2d6, and adding any ability modifiers. A 6 is a partial success, and a 10 is a full success. Bonds are used to "highlight" ability scores, and XP is awarded when a move is made using that stat.
