Game Summary

Only in New York can one battle an Outer God and later, if one lives to tell about it, have a drink in the "speakeasy belt." If you can investigate here, you can investigate anywhere!

The minds behind such Classic Call of Cthulhu® game titles as New Tales of the Miskatonic Valley and More Adventures in Arkham Country are proud to present Tales of the Sleepless City. This is a collection of 1920's era Call of Cthulhu scenarios that could only be set in New York. The Big Apple is practically a character in each of these pieces: investigate a strange explosion on the subway, disappearances in Hell's Kitchen, a murder in Harlem, and much more.

Tales of the Sleepless City is chock full of great talent! The scenario contents of this book are:
"To Awaken What Never Sleeps" by Dan Harms
"The Terror from the Museum" by Brian Sammons
"The Fishers of Men" by C. Michael Hurst
"The Tenement" by Oscar Rios
"A Night at the Opera" by Mikael Hedberg
"Értóng hé Kūqì de Mǔqīn (The Child and the Weeping Mother)" by Tom Lynch & Scott David Aniolowski

5 + 5kafka. So, whether New York City is needed as one-shot, a pit stop in one’s campaign or that one wants run a “global” campaign just using the neighborhoods of this fine city – this is an exceptionally superb set of adventures. Whereby, the city itself forms as much a character along with fully fleshed out NPCs and Great Old Ones. The emphasis here is on believability and in the best traditions of Call of Cthulhu gaming, defeating (although Keeper fiat – (s)he can destroy NYC) by keeping the horror at bay but at the same time maintain enough sanity…perhaps, to fight another day.
