4 / 10FlexiA handsome little hardback with some nightmarish scenes. And some ridiculous read aloud babble text like "organoleptic sensors in their zeltatech omnicide mechs" Topped off with a series of vaguely satisfying random tables on summoning otherworldly entities.
8 / 10YoraThis is Lamentations of the Flame Princess as I was always hoping for. There is a clear goal and one NPC in charge of the strange events, and a well explained way how the PCs can get to that NPC. The encounters along the way are not random but all connected to each other. But which route the players want to take and how they interact with the NPCs and creatures they encounter is left entirely to them. The art is typically grotesque, but not too much in your face. This is actually what I would prefer as the default structure and presentations for published adventures for any system.
