The investigators are Appalachian Trail hikers in Maine’s 100 Mile Wilderness in the fall of 1988. Halfway through the ten day hike, the characters encounter a murder scene. While evading killers at large and racing to escape the forest, the PCs soon discover the wilderness has been corrupted by a mythos entity recently fallen from the void.
