Game Summary

Ars Magica is a ruleset for magic-centered gaming in Mythic Europe. The game is set in a Mythic Europe where the stories and legends from medieval Europe were true, or at least more true than not. Demons, saints, dragons and faeries all make an appearance, but the focus of the game is the magi, who are the primary player characters.

The game has an extensive magic system with subsystems for spontaneous spellcasting, laboratory work, enchantments and more.

4 + 5~BA. A worthy heir to the impressive legacy that is Ars Magica, it fixes most everything that was problematic in earlier editions, while being visually impressive and easy to understand and read.
3 + 5Number 6. How I dragged my gaming group kicking and screaming, over the course of a year, away from D&D over to Ars Magica just long enough for them to try it. A painful journey, but one that paid huge dividends.
