A millenium in the future: Following the aftermath of the Galactic wars of Era Eight, during which the "Pacification Virus"--a virus which renders the infected unable to commit any "aggressive actions"--the Tetra-League, a loose political alliance of Terrans (earth humans) and their alien allies the Cruz, Skia and Cimmer faces internal political strife as well as the external threats of the Kro Armada, Verdigris Slavers and Ecclesiastics.
Players take the part of one of the one-in-a-million who are immune to the Pacification Virus.
There are five games in the series:
Battle Born: Action-adventure with the armor-suited mercenary troopers of the Battle Born; the armed forced of the Tetra League.
Guardians of Sol: High-tech police investigations in the Tetra-League.
Independents of S&R Group: Salvage Operations and Matrix hacking on the fringes of known space.
Cartel Royale (limited release): A campaign level game revolving around the politics of the Cartels that control the economy and government of the Tetra-League.
Ground Zero (online): Tactical level combat in the Era Ten universe.
Battle Born was originally published in "pamphlet form" in 1990, later reprinted in a "booklet" edition (1991) in Spacegamer magazine, vol5. #1 (1992) and on the spacegamer.com site (2003)
G/Sol was published in "booklet" form in 1991, and in Spacegamer magazine in 1992.
Independents of S&R Group was published in booklet form in 1991.
Cartel Royal was produced in a limited pamphlet form in 1991.
Ground Zero was published on spacegamer.com in 2003.
At this time (June 2009) Better Games maintains a web presence at www.spacegamer.com, however, while the message boards are active, most of the online content is not currently functional.
