The first published setting for Spycraft is a world where secret agents face psychic and magical powers. There is a main worldbook, and a line of chamber books detailing the different branches of the organization (each of which is responsible for a continent), and threat books dealing with their enemies.

Alderac Entertainment published the line from 2003 to 2005, when it was canceled. Many of the feats and other rules elements from the setting books became part of Spycraft 2.0. Starting in 2007, Crafty Games made electronic versions of the Shadowforce Archer Books available as part of their "Classic Spycraft" line.
