Dr. Rich Staats has a wide and varied background that includes being a soldier, a scholar, and a statesman. He has been involved in the game design and role-playing community since the mid-70s. Dr. Staats is also Dr. Games and has had an on-line presence since 1993. He served as the Department Head for a think tank in DC, and Dr. Staats was acknowledged in 1996 as one of the top 100 most quoted information engineers in the world at the time. Dr. Staats is also Colonel Staats who was highly decorated including multi-bronze star medals and five commands including four overseas commands and two brigades. Perhaps most significant, he was a single parent and spent thirteen years raising his three children, Kathy, Liz, and Ben.
