Valkyrie Games was originally founded in 1996. During the mid-to-late 1990's the company released its signature science fiction game Stellar Horizons. In 2002 the company suspended operations as the owners were forced to deal with other issues.

The company resumed operations in 2009, with a re-release of its Stellar Horizons game, its first adventure module, and weaponry source book.
