Dynamic d6 System Information

Dynamic d6

Dynamic d6 is a system used for the no longer in print game, Fireborn, published by Fantasy Flight. It uses 6-sided dice and a system of checks and thresholds to determine outcomes in the game. The truly inventive section of the system is the four scores used to determine power. Physical stats use fire(physical attack actions) and water (physical defense actions) and mental stats us Air (mental power) and Earth (mental defense and magical potential). Rolls are done by making a test (such as a dodge test) in which the dodge stat has a specific number. This number determines how many dice may be moved from other scores to the score used for the test (in the case of dodge, it is water. The player may move dice from his over scores, therefore lowering them, in order to achieve a higher score in one score for one turn. Ex: Mike wants his character to dodge a gun. His scores are as follows, Fire 4 Earth 4 Air 3 Water 5. His dodge rating is two. He really wants his character to dodge this gunshot, so he 'moves' two dice, one from his Air and Earth scores (he thinks in the fight mental stats will count least so he chooses to lower them.). His scores for the turn now are Fire 4 Earth 3 Air 2 Water 7. He then rolls seven six sided dice attempting to beat a threshold, or target number of dice with four or above on them. The threshold to dodge a gunshot is high and he needs five successes. He gets a 2,3,4,4,5,6,4- just enough to barely dodge the bullet, yet for the rest of the turn if a mage attacks his mind it will be an issue for Mike's character. This is how the Fireborn Dynamic d6 system works.

The parent system is: Dragons.
