Traveller

The most popular and long-lived science-fiction game in roleplaying's history, originally released in 1977 by GDW.

To date there have been five major revisions of the core game: Traveller, Megatraveller, Traveller: The New Era, Traveller 4, and Mongoose's Traveller/Far Future's Traveller 5. All of these games used variants of the same system other than Traveller: The New Era, which was instead a descendent of Twilight: 2000, the basis for GDW's House System.

There have also been two games which used the same background, called the Original Traveller Universe (OTU), but aren't considered Traveller systems. They were Steve Jackson Games' GURPS Traveller and QuikLinks T20.

Alternative system names are: MegaTraveller, Traveller: TNE.

Subsidiary systems are: Cepheus Engine, Sword and Board, Traveller / Mongoose.
