0 / 10Taw GresolyWhen there was only the 1st edition, melee combat was terribly time consuming (the use of Action Points - much like the movement chart in Star Fleet Battles). We actually avoided it by engaging in such ranged spell or missile weapon use! I think refinements provided by the second edition were superlative, being inclusive of such things disarming, fencing became a D10 roll.. and more. I like to say that not only the game in general is very amenable to Role-Play, but even the combat mechanics have more options than the inane exchanging of blows until one or the other of the participants has perished.
