Spellspawn (also known as the spelltwisted or spelldead) are magical mistakes, the results of magic gone wrong. Most are caused by spells miscast into areas of wild magic, causing them to twist their targets into new (often horrific) shapes, or the result of normally benign spells striking a target simultaneously with another spell, such as bestow curse or bestow dire curse*. Others have been the result of magical breeding experiments gone awry - or that have horribly succeeded. But all have this in common - the natural twisted into the unnatural by powerful magic. Bringing 16 new monsters to the table SpellSpawn twists the natural and unnatural alike into frightning visions of magic gone wrong.
