Cityworks*: A Handbook for Designing and Surviving Fantasy Cities is one of the d20 system sourcebooks in the Legends & Lairs line. The first chapter is primarily player-oriented, with new core classes (acrobat, assassin, pit fighter), prestige classes (kingpin, speaker of the city, street stalker), feats, spells, and advice for urban adventuring. The last four chapters are more oriented toward the GM, and cover the basics of designing cities, a system for designing cities by district and block, advice including flowcharts for creating and running city adventures, rules for traditional city conflicts including chases, rooftop fights, and the obligatory barroom brawl, and "event templates" for running adventures during riots, fires, plagues, and other dramatic situations, and a final chapter full of tables.
* The title, as it appears on the front cover, appears to be "City Works" with both words capitalized and on separate lines. However, the title page and interior uses "Cityworks" and this is the way it appears in Fantasy Flight Games' publications.
